Construction and Delivery

Pre-built Amish sheds are constructed in a climate-controlled facility, while our built-on-site Amish sheds are built by our professional crew of trained, licensed, and insured builders.

Once your custom pre-built shed is ready, Sturdi-Built sends a two-man team to deliver your shed. They use what’s called a ‘Shed Mule’ to move the shed to your chosen location. The Mule is a very handy tool that weighs about 1,000 lbs. This is half the weight of most sheds, which is very helpful and effective in limiting any damage to your lawn caused from the shed’s weight when your yard is wet. Watch the video to see how it works! Additionally, we will not drive on your property unless approved to do so.

Depending on the grade and location of the placement area, we will use patio block (sheds 10×14 or smaller) to serve as the base on which the 4×4 wooden runners will rest. With numerous block-to-runner contact points, this elevates the building off the grass, which facilitates airflow and prevents moisture rot. Patio block is also very adjustable, making it a great solution for uneven yards.

Once the shed is placed, our two-man delivery team will get it perfectly level with additional block, pressure-treated shim, and shingle fine-tuning. The whole delivery is typically completed in 30 to 90 minutes!
